ESTABLISHMENT OF DANDONG INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY ARBITRATION COURT, CREATING A NEW HIGHLAND FOR IP PROTECTION
On November 6, 2020, an Intellectual Property Arbitration Court has been officially established in support of Dandong Arbitration Commission in Dandong City, which is largest port city in China trading with North Korea, accounting for nearly 70% of China’s total imports and exports to North Korea. More than 80 professionals including Director of Dandong Intellectual Property administration and Deputy Director of Dandong Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs were present in this ceremony.
Managing Partner of Zhixin & Partners Law Firm, Patent Attorney Mr. Zhixin HE was invited to attend the launching ceremony and gave a keynote speech to the participants on the issues of intellectual property protection and the latest development of intellectual property arbitration during the launching ceremony.
During the speech, Mr. Zhixin HE introduced the characteristics of intellectual property disputes, and indicated that Dandong's advantages, in the aspects of culture, region and trade, could provide better coordination environment for intellectual property disputes in international trade, especially those in trade between China, Japan and South Korea, so as to facilitate multi-party negotiation and arbitration and to promote high levels of trade with Northeast Asian countries.
The establishment of the Intellectual Property Arbitration Court of Dandong Arbitration Commission is the first example to build a China-leading intellectual property protection system integrated with judicature, administration and civil mediation in Northeast Asia, and will effectively advance the development of knowledge-intensive industries and cultural undertakings among Northeast Asian countries.
